2u Server Barebone
The RS720-E7/RS12-E is a 2U server barebone that is designed for high scalability and storage applications. It supports latest Dual Socket-R 2011 for latest Intel Xeon E5-2600 Processor and 16 DIMMS DDR3 up to 512GB (RDIMM). For high expandability, it has 6 PCI-E Gen 3 x16 expansion slot to carter to the most intensive and demanding tasks. It is built with hot-swappable 770W Redundant Power Supply by eliminating the risk of maintenance downtime. Load with Quad Intel Server-class i350 GbE controller, it doubles the bandwidth compared to most dual LAN server and also supports fault tolerance technology. With Intel VMDq (Virtual Machine Device Queues) and SR-IOV, it enhances virtualized traffic management with I/O performance optimization and offload the sorting and queuing functionality. It reduces the data processing bottleneck and makes the board to be the best candidate for virtualization environment. With ASUS Expander card in backplane, it can support 12 3.5 Hot-Swappable HDD bays to support SATA or SAS HDDs, meeting the demands for mass storage. It is auxiliary to handle large dataset without the need for separate discrete storage systems. Furthermore, ASUS provides ASUS PIKE 2108 SAS2 6G upgrade kit, a cost-effective flexible SAS storage interface without occupying existing PCI-E slots. Lastly, with ASMB6-iKVM onboard, it enables out-of-band management to control and monitor utilizing real-time web-based remote management.
