ITER is a planned, next-generation fusion research facility for international research involving seven international partners: China, the EU, India, Japan, Korea, Russia, and the US. This report reviews the document "Planning for US Fusion Community Participation in the ITER program," in order to determine whether the plan provides a good initial outline for the participation of US plasma scientists in the ITER research program. The book evaluates the agenda for US research at ITER, describes methods for evaluating ITER's contributions, outlines the anticipated relationship between the US ITER research program and the overall US fusion program, and recommends next steps in the development of the plan.
