While it certainly can be argued that the endless reissuing and repackaging of late music legends seldom achieves anything more than consumer redundancy and, in certain egregious cases, musical grave robbing, occasionally a well-conceived and smartly-executed product comes down the pike that is clearly the result of a labor of love by all involved parties. B IS FOR BOB, a kid-friendly spin on the music of reggae legend Bob Marley (featuring eldest Marley son and roots reggae scion Ziggy Marley), is less compilation-by-committee than reimagining-by-proxy. Taking the original master recordings of eight Bob Marley originals and revising the instrumentation and arrangements to suit a younger audience, Ziggy puts his soulful and positive touch to such classics as "Three Little Birds," "Redemption Song," and "Jamming," classics that are sure to find renewed resonance with a whole new generation of reggae fans.

Artist/Group
Overview
Jamaican legend Bob Marley began recording in the mid-1960s when R&B-influenced vocal harmony was the order of the day in Jamaican pop. With the Wailers, he presaged every major development from rock steady to roots reggae. By combining the tension of political issues with the expansiveness of Rastafarian spirituality and some of the deepest grooves in reggae, he earned a worldwide audience. Though Marley died young, he remains an icon comparable to John Lennon, a musical and social visionary.
