However, there are a few new cosmetic pencil sharpener styles available now that we want to share with you, so you can make a more informed choice, and perhaps discover something that is more convenient than a traditional sharpener.
For example, Sephora's take on the sharpener is a clever in-cap design: just slip either end of the sharpener over your lip or eyeliner pencil, just like capping a pen, and twist. This handy tool is ideal for your travel cosmetic case or purse, and fits all slim pencils or thin cosmetic crayons.
Japonesque's dual sharpener is like Sephora's, although the stacked barrel shape is more than cool-looking; it also contains an interlocking chamber which holds shavings securely. Perfect Beauty offers a similar design in a small oval shape, with the sharpeners on either end for both large and small pencils.
Even traditional sharpeners have gotten an update from Cover Girl, which changes the dual side-by-side sharpener into a triple design. Though there are still just two sharpening holes, a removable insert allows you to bring even the jumbo makeup pencils to a perfectly fine point. Maybelline uses the same concept, and both are less than $5.00 apiece, with attached trays to catch the shavings and eliminate the mess created by most sharpeners. The gloTools sharpener takes the update a step further with the ability to either sharpen your pencils or create a rounded tip, making this a handy multitask tool.
