Facial Scrubs & Masks

Treat your face to paradise with a great exfoliating facial scrub or a soothing mask. Dermatologists recommend using a facial scrub at least twice a week to exfoliate dead skin cells and scrub out dirt and oil from your pores.

Most facial scrubs are made with natural ingredients like citrus, alpha hydroxyl, or peaches. They use certain lactic or juice acids to help scrub away old skin on the face, clearing the path for fresh, new skin.

Dermalogica, Aveeno, Neutrogena, and other lower-mid priced options are a great bet for a good facial scrub. Typically these products will have healing soy protein, fruit extracts, and other natural ingredients that will help soothe the skin while exfoliating too. Queen Helene is an old favorite scrub, featuring a minty, tingly exfoliating that women love-and a $4 price tag that they love too!

If you want a bit more smoothing of fine lines than a facial mask can offer, then try a microdermabrasion set. These can be expensive, but you can usually find a decent price for them online, and it is much cheaper than going to the salon for a treatment. Chanel's got a great microdermabrasion system, and there are also facial peels you can purchase too, which accomplish roughly the same thing that microdermabrasion does.

Facial masks are another great way to keep skin looking fresh and vibrant. There are so many great face masks on the market, it's hard to know which is the right for your skin type unless you try them out. There are many different kinds of masks - clay masks, fruit masks, yogurt masks, moisturizing masks, etc. Decide what is most important to you and what type of skin you have, and go from there. If you have acne-prone, oily skin, you might want to try a clay mask specially formulated to clear up blackheads. If your skin is really dry or you are concerned about aging, you might want to try a mask from a brand like Shiseido, known for helping to tighten up skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
