Book Review Index 2001 Cumulation

BRI continues with its indexing mission, providing access to reviews of books, periodicals, and books-on-tape, from publications in the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. Cited reviews are from 500-plus sources: reviewing journals, general interest publications, scholarly and literary journals, and electronic publications. A total of 136,400 citations, for 76,500 titles, are organized by the name of the author of the reviewed book, with further access via a title index. BRI defines "reviews" broadly to include critical commentaries as well as descriptive annotations. New to this edition is a change in how reviews are described in terms of size; there are now three ranges: 1 to 50 words, 51 to 500 words, and over 501 words so that users can be alerted to very long or very short reviews.
