Breyer Bonanza Chub Hoss Cartwrights Horse - BH1453

As the imposing powerhouse Hoss Cartwright, actor Dan Blocker was matched with a 15.3 hand Quarter Horse/Thoroughbred-Cross gelding, named Chub, that weighed a sturdy 1,250 lbs. Rented from the Fat Jones Stable, Hollywood's top supplier of movie horses since the 1920's. Chub's sleek bay coat, brooked blaze, and three white socks were perfect for TV's transition from black-and-white to color transmission. Over its 14-year run, many horses (and actors) came and went, but Chub remained with the series from start to final episode. Always spoken of in a loving and caring way by his riding partner, Chub outlived Blocker, who passed away in 1972 at age 43.
