Circuit City does business throughout the United States and accordingly collects sales and use tax as required by applicable law. Your confirmation order total will reflect the applicable state and local sales tax, if any. The tax rate applied to your order will generally be the combined state and local rate for the address where your order was shipped, delivered or picked up.

For Our Tax-Exempt
Customers Currently, Circuit City does not offer the ability for customers to make tax-exempt purchase online. However, Circuit City allows customers to make tax-exempt purchases over the phone by calling the Circuit City Corporate Sales department at 888-304-8378 (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. EST). To take advantage of your tax-exempt status, you will need to provide Circuit City with acceptable proof of exemption for the state where the items will be shipped, delivered or picked up.

How do I place an order?

First, place your order by calling the Circuit City Corporate Sales department at 888-304-8378. At the time your order is processed, you will be charged the applicable state sales tax. During your phone call, your Account Advisor will request your e-mail address or fax number to send you a Pay Verification Statement. Complete and fax or mail the statement back to Circuit City with a copy of a state resale certificate, exemption certificate or other acceptable proof of your exempt status for the state where the items will be shipped or picked up. After Circuit City has received this information, your order will be refunded any sales tax charged and the credit will be applied to your credit card.

For Tax Holidays

Circuit City participates in state tax holidays. During a tax holiday, purchases made on Shop.com will initially show sales tax during the checkout process, but Circuit City will adjust the total to remove sales tax from qualifying items. The adjusted total, minus the sales tax, will appear in your final confirmation email. Dates for tax holidays and tax-exempt items vary by state, please refer to your state legislature for details.
