What You Need to Know About Buying Split SkirtsThere's something very clever about the design of split skirts. Much like skorts, these are basically shorts with the appearance of skirts. However, rather than two layers of fabric, with shorts underneath the skirt, a split skirt is an illusion. Lengths ranging from shorts to capris are full and flowing, so when you stand with your legs close together, it looks like you're wearing a full skirt!
Roxy really does this right with adorable mini skirt styles -- it's very difficult to tell that these are split skirts. The Snorkel Bay is one of our favorites, available in Lilac Ash and a black stripe. This is a lightly pleated skirt to add a bit of flirt.
Lord Isaacs is another fine choice with longer split jean skirts in a variety of colors with wide legs for better flow and a gathered waistband for a perfect fit. Check out the khaki skirts for a different take on the fabric.
