Dave Blaney began his professional racing career in May of 1981driving sprint cars. He has raced with all three major sprint car organizations; The United Sprint Association, the All-Star Circuit of Champions and the World of Outlaw National Challenge Series. Dave Blaney has earned over $3.1 million in prize money. He has recorded over 180 career wins and more than 20 track records, Dave has consistently ranked within the top five in the National Sprint Car poll; In the Spring of 1993 and the Summer of 1995 he maintained first place. Dave raced USAC Dirt Champ cars on one-mile tracks throughout the country including; DuQuoin, Springfield and Phoenix International. His success led to his win of the USAC Silver Crown Championship In 1984 he won the USAC Silver Crown Championship while racing UASC Dirt Champ Cars throughout the country on a one-mile track.

Dave Blaney spent six years in New York racing in different venues. In 1989, 1994 and 1995 he was runner-up on the Syracuse Mile and was the victor in 1987 and 1993 at the Syracuse Champion Spark Plug Nationals where he qualified for a pole position at the 1994 300 Dirt Modified race. Dave tried his talents at the Midgets arena, where he competed in five Chili Bowl Nationals. Dave Blaney`s abilities were proven again as he won the title in the 1993 Chili Bowl Midget National Champion. In 1991 Dave received his major sponsor VIVARIN, a product of SmithKline Beecham consumer brands because of his all his success. He accomplished many achievements and major championship wins from 1994 to 1996.

Dave had an amazing year in 1997 proving that he is a leader in the world of sprint car racing. AMOCO Ultimate 93 became a sponsor for Hylton-Blaney Motorsports with Dave Blaney. Dave`s partnership with AMOCO helped him sign a three-year contract with Bill Davis Racing to participate in the NASCAR Busch Series driving the AMOCO Ultimate 93 Pontiac. In the 1998 NASCAR Busch Series season, Dave Blaney trailed series point champion Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Matt Kenseth in cumulative points, averaging 130.63 points per race in the final eight races. Dave`s average finish 11.6 and average start 8.3 were among the best of any regular series during the period. He placed fourth among all drivers with a start of 14.9 for the season. Dave and the Amoco team had a successful season in 1999 where he finished seventh place overall in the NASCAR Busch series points, only missing one race due to the Michigan Winston Cup race on the same exact day as the Busch event.

In the 1999 season he captured four pole positions and placing in the top 10 13 times. Dave finished in second-place at Atlanta during spring and in Darlington during the fall. In 1999 he raced in five Winston Cup races where qualified fourth in Miami and seventh in Atlanta. Dave Blaney continued racing and proved he was a Champion. In 2000 made the jump to the NASCAR Winston Cup series driving for the Bill Davis Racing Amoco Pontiac team.
