Flora Danica Round Soup Tureen - Brand new from Royal Copenhagen. It is made with a deep respect for tradition and the time-honoured principles of craftsmanship. Width 9 1/2 inches or 240 mm. Capacity; 106 oz or 300 cl. Pattern. Flora Danica.

Condition: New in original box with all paperwork, first quality, handmade and stamped item. One of the last luxury services still in existence from the 18th century is perhaps the world's most prestigious dinner service in production today. Flora Danica is reputed to be one of the most original and inspired products of the European art industry from the golden age of porcelain.

Flora Danica was commissioned by Crown Prince Frederik on behalf of king Christian VII of Denmark for creation at the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory. According to tradition the service was intended as a gift for the Empress Catherine the Great of Russia, an enthusiastic collector of porcelain.
