Format: DVD, Teletubbies - Silly Songs and Funny Dances
After conquering its native shores, the surreal British children's series TELETUBBIES travelled across the pond to charm American audiences with the playful yet educational adventures of four vibrantly colored, costumed puppets with television screens on their tummies. As Teletubbies Dipsy, Po, Laa-Laa, and Tinky Winky frolic and coo in a pastoral fantasyland dominated by a baby-faced sun, the series explores early learning concepts such as shapes, colors, and numbers through a fun mix of games, music, storytelling, puppetry, animation, live-action segments--and the occasional break for toast and custard. Perfectly capturing the toddler worldview, the hugely popular series continues with this collection of episodes that find the quartet engaging in silly songs and funny dances.

Pros: Engaging, playful
Cons: After hearing it 30 times I want to make Teletubby Stew
The Bottom Line: If you have a toddler, you could do worse. The Teletubbies aren't very high on the educational scale, but it is gentle, engaging entertainment for the youngest of children.
