Purchasing Patio Tables

The most important consideration when it comes to purchasing a patio table is functionality. Is your table going to be used for primarily for meals? While it may seem an obvious yes, there are also a number of coffee tables and end tables designed for patio use as well. Once you've determined the table's primary purpose, other factors, such as materials, style, and budget come into play.
Like everything else in patio furniture, there is no shortage of options when it comes to patio tables. You can find glass tables, wicker tables, wrought iron tables, and wooden tables; you can find round tables or rectangular tables. Whatever it is you're looking for, chances are you'll find it. If you're uncertain about the type of materials you want, consider again functionality. If you have small children, you might opt for a table constructed of plastic or wood as these tend to be more durable and child friendly. If you're looking for something ornate, either wrought iron or glass, or a combination of glass table top with wrought iron legs, might be a better choice.
Also consider how exposed your patio table will be to the natural elements. If your patio area is often rained on, you might want to stay away from anything metallic that rusts. Likewise, if you live in a place of excessive sunlight, you might want to avoid brightly colored fabrics, favoring neutral colors or weather resistant materials instead.
As with all other furniture purchases, you'll find that the price range is as diverse as the products themselves. A small wooden potting table or end table might run anywhere from 100 to 200 dollars, and interestingly enough, a large wooden picnic table that comfortably seats four could be half that price. It really depends on the manufacturer and the materials used.
