First aid to help prevent bacterial contamination or skin infection and for temporary relief of pain and itch associated with: minor skin irritations, minor cuts, minor burns, sunburn, minor scrapes, insect bites, rashes due to poison ivy, oak or sumac. A must-have in the medicine and first aid cabinet. We were treating a staph infection with strong antibiotics, but the wound also had to be kept scrupulously clean. Several times a day the wound was cleaned and then we sprayed the Gold Bond Antiseptic on the non-stick pad used to cover the wound and absorb fluids. It also helped relieve the pain.
