Story Behind the Art:
My mother was very artistic and she always guided us toward the arts,' recalls Priscilla Urias de Benedetti. 'She loved doing handicrafts, especially ceramics so when I was six, my parents set up a workshop. As time went by, my mother introduced the Talavera style. It was a real hit in El Salvador which allowed us provide jobs for other artisans. Sadly, my mother passed away in 2004, and my father and I are continuing the workshop. Art unites us, it gives us work and keeps our minds active as we create new designs filled with color and happiness.'
