Although it may be faster to use a clothes dryer, no matter how energy-efficient it is, a dryer simply cannot compare to the complete lack of electricity needed for a clothesline. All you need is a patio or yard, a couple of poles or hooks, a length of line, and some clothespins; if your patio is covered, you don't even have to wait for a hot sunny day. Air drying your more delicate clothes -- or those which easily fade -- is also better for them, so grab some clothes pins and your laundry basket for an old-fashioned, no cost way to dry your clothing.
