What to Look for in a Tea Kettle

Believe it or not, not all tea kettles are created equally. Everyone loves the telltale whistle of a tea kettle, but who knew there were so many varieties to choose from? The key to a great cup of tea is getting the water heated to just the right temperature, and that is why it's important to have a good tea kettle.
There are many types of tea kettles to choose from. If you like the standard, classic stovetop tea kettle, then consider a tea kettle from KitchenAid or Farberware. They do just the trick and are affordable too. If you want something higher end, try the Le Creuset brand-it'll run you around $70, but if you really like tea and love the enameled style, it's a brand that's hard to beat.
Electric tea kettles are also a great way to go if you want to make tea at work or a place where there is no stove. They are easy, heat up fast, and are very inexpensive. Try Krups or Kalorik brands for a good quality electric kettle.
If you're looking for a personal tea kettle, try one from Reston Lloyd. They come in dozens of decorative styles and colors and make just enough tea for one. There are also great mini tea kettles for camping and hiking, antique-style kettles made from copper and English-style kettles made from china and Japanese cast iron tea pots that are simply stunning too.
