Huan Yue Plush Monkey
Meet Huan Yue™. Her name, pronounced hwan yoo, means “joyful, happy” in Chinese. One thing makes Huan Yue happier than anything else. Eating! She loves to munch on leaves and fruits, sometimes all day long, which is probably why she is developing a bit of a tummy. But she doesn’t mind. Because, as they say in China, “Enjoy yourself. It’s later than you think.” Huan Yue is a douc langur. Douc langurs have pot-bellies so their stomachs can contain large amounts of leaves and fruits. All this leaf eating makes them burp. However, Douc langurs are very picky eaters. They carefully inspect their food and throw away old leaves and overripe fruit. Douc langurs live in the rainforests of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and China. Only a few zoos in the U.S. have douc langurs. Aren’t you lucky to have one in your home?
