Lola Thompson - Everyone in my army is against me and my weapons are depleted (panel 1) with Veine D' Or Bronze Scoop - Bronze and Rich Brown Finish - 36.5" X 46.5" - Hand Painted Canvas Art
Enjoy a print of this striking commentary on rebellion and war. Reproduced from a high-quality photograph, this print maintains the sharp lines and detail of the original piece. It depicts civilian soldiers with unfit weapons. The artist evokes a sense of hurt and futility through her use of overlapping images. This piece was created in the fifth episode of the second season of Work of Art: The Next Great Artist. The artist was tasked with creating a work of art based off of a headline in the New York Times, while incorporating the physical newspaper in some way. A recent graduate, Lola Thompson grew up and resides in Los Angeles, California. She studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and received her BFA from OTIS College of Art and Design. She also won the Jurors prize at the OTIS 2010 BFA show. While in Chicago, Lola curated and ran an independent art gallery, "The Revolving Door". She has showed at A+D Museum, which was juried by John Baldessari. What probably most inspires her work was her apprenticeship with the sculptor Robert Graham; she assisted him for three years, until his death in 2008. Lola works in a variety of mediums, including sculpture, installation, drawing, and performance. Frame Description: Veine D' Or Bronze Scoop - Bronze and Rich Brown Finish
