Montana Views : Postcards from the Montana Historical Society

The thirty postcards in Montana Views offer glimpses of western life during the last century. These postcards feature photographs of people who shaped the West: a cowboy bringing a calf to the branding fire, Butte miners preparing to light dynamite, Yellowstone tourists fishing for trout, homesteaders posed in front of their tiny cabin, Blackfeet Indians encamped near Two Medicine, and others you might not expect. Each photograph is handpicked from the Montana Historical Society photograph archive's collection of more than 450,000. The amateur and professional photographers who recorded these images have captured the faces of the state's inhabitants. Each postcard is perforated for easy removal and mailing.
