Story Behind the Art:

Gabbehs, like many other types of Persian rugs, are made with local hand-spun wool and vegetable dyes. Although tribal and rural, the abstract and cubist designs of Persian Gabbehs look so modern they match the interior of today's homes. This particular rug was made by Mr. Sadeghian and his family, in the Gabbeh village in the Shiraz province of Iran. The Sadeghian family has been making rugs in this area for the last half of a century and is very proud of their workmanship and production of these authentic tribal rugs.
