This child safety device, the Plug Guard, fits any standard 3 prong grounded duplex electrical outlet . Each electrical cover has two sliding plates that are spring-loaded. These heavy duty plastic outlet cover plates move up and down. The recessed outlet openings easily hold standard 2 or 3 prong plugs from lamps, vacuum cleaners, etc. You pull up or push down on the covers to insert a plug. The door automatically slides shut when the plug is removed . Replacing your existing electrical outlet plate means child safety plus energy savings. The foam backing switch gasket fits securely around the electrical outlets to provide a tight, draft seal that will help reduce your energy bills. The sliding door outlet cover is about the same size as a standard outlet cover but it is thicker. When you slide a door open, there is an opening that is about 1 inch high and wide enough for all standard 2- and 3-prong plugs. Over-sized plugs will not fit into either opening. Installation is simple. What you need is a screw driver to remove the single screw in the center of the existing outlet cover. Installation Instructions: Shut off Circuit Breaker at Fuse Box Remove existing wall plate by turning screw counter-clockwise.
