What Makes PureH2O™ Shower Filter Replacement Cartridge Unique?

 

The PureH2O™ Shower Filter comes complete with a two-stage filter cartridge that lasts six months or 10,000 gallons of filtered water. The PureH2O Shower Filter is an advanced filtering system that reduces chlorine and other chemicals for a healthier and more enjoyable shower experience. The high-capacity filter is easy to install and makes an attractive addition to any shower. The Shower Filter uses a two-stage filtering process. Stage 1 filtration reduces chlorine from your shower water and balances its pH level with a natural copper/zinc mineral media called KDF-55D. The Stage 2 filtration reduces harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that ordinarily vaporize while you are showering and are unhealthy to inhale. Using a carbonized coconut shell media for the removal of most synthetic chemicals and VOCs, the second stage protects your skin from potentially harmful effects.

 

With the realization that more chemicals enter our body through skin absorption and inhalation of steam while showering than from drinking water, the benefits of shower filtration have become obvious. A warm shower opens the pores of the skin and allows a high rate of absorption of chlorine and other chemicals. Inhalation of chlorine and chemical vapors is known to be a strong irritant to the tissues in our lungs. When chemicals are inhaled, they enter the lungs, and then go directly into the bloodstream and have magnified adverse effects when compared to ingested chemicals, which are partially filtered out by the liver and kidneys.
