A $500 Kitchen Renovation
According to Remodeling Magazine, the average cost of a minor kitchen makeover is more than $21,000. GardenWeb user pommy_girl, however, was able to remodel her space with quite a bit less thanks to some skillful shopping, elbow grease and a lot of creativity. She updated her kitchen for only $500. Check out the before and after photos and see how she was able to save. Before: After: Pommy_girl's cabinets got a new look just by removing the doors and giving them a fresh coat of paint and some new hardware. She paid $7 per gallon for the paint and $1 each for the door handles at one of habitat for Humanity's ReStores.
