Taken from the British Library's archives of interviews made from the 1970s to the '90s, these interviews with some of the world's leading science fiction writers were originally broadcast on the radio, and in most cases have never been heard since then.

 

Ten writers, representing some of the most well-known and well-respected voices in science fiction, are included here talking about their work: Isaac Asimov, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury, Doris Lessing, Douglas Adams, J. G. Ballard, Michael Moorcock, Brian Aldiss, and Ursula K. Le Guin. They answer many questions on the way they work, the nature of science fiction, how science fiction is viewed in the literary community, the relationship between the film and written versions of their work, and the influence of current scientific research and recent world history on their writings.
