When the silver has set the artisan beats it with hammers into a sheet and cuts it into the desired shape. Then he applies a coat of an oil and pitch mixture on a wooden surface where he fixes the sheet before to engrave it with chisels and nails. Once engraved, he heats the piece to remove the pitch and places it into a boiling acid bath to rinse out the impurities. Then he shapes solid strings into various shapes, and solders them into the fastening device and the little comb, which he solders to the engraved leaf. The fastening device is here composed of a little chain, a pin and an lovely Lanna flower. Once completed, the piece is washed into a solution composed of tamarind. Then it is washed with water, dried and filed with a small brass brush and finally polished with a cloth.""
