New York City's top hip-hop DJ delivers the second installment of his mix-tape series. Not the first DJ to commercialize the underground mix tape on CD (fellow New Yorker Red Alert preceded him onto disc), but definitely one of the most influential, Funkmaster Flex showcases his turntable skills by mixing classic jams with freestyle rhymes from hip-hop's hottest MCs.
From old school to new school, Flex spins cuts on the turntables as if he were rockin' a party rather than putting together a compilation album. With R&B hits, exclusive blends and guest vocals by almost every major rapper East of the Mississippi, THE MIX TAPE VOLUME 2 packs it all. Buckshot's remake of Rakim's "I Ain't No Joke" and microphone appearances by MCs Notorious B.I.G. & Da Lox give this album the ultimate hard-core appeal.
