Violin, Stradivarius Model 1718, by E.H. Roth, Germany

Well flamed back, sides and scroll, evenly grained top, reddish color, artistically shaded, high grade ebony trimmings. Marvelous replica of extraordinary 1718 model by Antonio Stradivari (A.K.A. Stradivarius), made in Germany by the famous maker, Ernst Heinrich Roth. As is characteristic of all of the high-end Roth violins, this one has a powerful, rich and mellow yet focused tone with bright, carrying overtones. The company now known as Ernst Heinrich Roth has a long history, dating back to 1873 in Markneukirchen, Germany, founded by violin maker Gustav Robert Roth. He was the most important and distinguished figure in a whole dynasty of Roth luthiers active in Germany over many generations and to this day. Today Roth has lutheries in Bubenreuth and Markneukirchen, Germany.
