Founder Mark Werts has been recognized as one of the most innovative and trendsetting retailers in the United States, who over a short time has positioned American Rag apparel as a cornerstone of California culture. He and his wife Margot are directly involved with the company's growth; based in Los Angeles, California, they have additional boutiques in Japan and San Francisco. Macy's teamed up with the company in 2010 with the help of Good Charlotte's Benji and Joel Madden to release the limited edition Mad Picks capsule collection, available at select Macy's stores. Designed for the girl who wants her fashion to rock, Mad Picks is the Maddens' first collaboration with a retailer and features their favorite looks from the new seasonal collection for girls, including stylish denim, bohemian vests and embellished American Rag tops. Providing fairly simple but well-made apparel and accessories for every member of the family, from faux leather American Rag jackets to fine wool blend pea coats or blazers, and business slacks to cargo leggings or jeans, the brand covers casual and semi-formal wear at low to mid-range prices.
