| Known for her long bangs and colorful, bright designs, Anna Sui has made a global impact in the fashion industry since the launch of her professional career in 1991. Today her clothing, fragrance, cosmetic, and accessories lines sell all over the world in over 50 countries. Anna Sui was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1964 and was interested in fashion at a very young age. After attending college at Parsons Design School, she worked for a variety of junior sportswear companies. While working, she designed clothing on her own, selling her creations at Macy's and Bloomingdale's. Models Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista helped boost Anna Sui's career due to their fame at the time, as both modeled in her first runway show in 1991. She was able to open her first retail store in Soho, and created what Soho fashion is today, a fusion of bohemian and rock. Along with her Anna Sui collection, Sui launched a youthful fashioh line called Dolly Girl in 2004 and a children's line called Anna Sui Mini in 2009. Anna Sui fragrances and cosmetics were introduced in 1999 and Anna Sui shoes came shortly after. The Anna Sui brand has grown internationally into the European, Asian and Middle Eastern markets. She continues to have a full house at Bryant Park during New York's Fashion Week and pushes the envelope with her creative designs, stores and fashion shows.
