| Founded by Jerome Dahan in 2003, Citizens of Humanity designs casual denim and seasonal fashion collections for women and men, releasing two new collections per year. Mr. Dahan was previously the head of design for Lucky Brand, and one of the co-founders of 7 For All Mankind. Citizens of Humanity jeans are hand-crafted and produced in small batches, and in addition to traditional sizing, the company also offers a maternity collection. The company's men's line was launched in 2005, while the women's jeans collection has since been expanded to include Citizens of Humanity shirts and tops in knit blends. In 2006, Mr. Dahan gained the investment of Bershire Partners, which enhanced the financial backing the company could provide to further style developments. Aside from a precise fit which follows the body's natural curves, these jeans are also notable for unusual denim washes and prints, including acid-splatter, ombre fades, cross-hatch weaves, speckled eggshell patterns, and hints of pinstriping. The recent addition of corduroy and twill in natural colors adds texture, while the knits collection includes Citizens of Humanity skirts and leggings as well as jackets and tops. The denim line features jackets and outwear, skirts, shorts and more, including baggy, on-trend Citizens of Humanity capris and cropped pants. One of the newest fabric choices is fleece for a budding active wear line, adding sweatshirts, drawstring pants and hoodies to this growing brand which promises more creative styles in the future with the nearly customized fit for which Jerome Dahan's designs are appreciated all over the world.
