| The man of the sea, Guy Harvey, has made a name for himself by helping oceans and its wildlife in many different ways. His popularity has brought him notoriety and many people believe in his mission and enjoy his artwork. His paintings are what he sees in the sea and can be found in many stores, galleries, restaurants and exhibits. His paintings and his lifestyle have been made into Guy Harvey apparel, Guy Harvey jewelry, sportswear, Guy Harvey home furnishings and gift products. As an artist, scientist, diver, angler, conservationist and explorer, Guy Harvey wears many hats but they are revolved around the love of the oceans and seas. He grew up in Jamaica fishing and diving and then putting what he saw on canvas. He is a 10th generation Jamaican of English heritage dating back to 1664 when his family immigrated to Jamaica. He has a doctorate degree in Fisheries Management and was once Professor of Marine Biology. Guy's art and talent called him and by 1985, he drew a series of 44 drawings depicting Ernest Hemingway's The Old Man & the Sea and which was well-received. By 1988, he was painting full-time and making custom art for people around the world. With his travels, he became a skilled underwater photographer and scuba diver. He has founded The Guy Harvey Research Institute at Nova Southeastern University and The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation that provide scientific research and information to understand and protect the world's fish resources and oceans' biodiversity.
