| Established in 1972 as the successor to the New Hampshire-based Connors & Hoffman Footwear Company, Munro & Company, Inc. is a leader in women and children's footwear. Founder Don Munro was a former manger of Connors & Hoffman Footwear Company's southern division and had actually set up three plants, all in Arkansas, beginning in 1960 and then in 1967 that eventually formed the nucleus of Munro & Company. Producing men and women's quality leather Munro shoes and Munro boots for major national retailers, Munro & Company began producing quality children's shoes as well. With three manufacturing facilities and a distribution center, Munro & Company services their customers, which include large independent retailers, major national upscale retailers and many online retailers. Focusing on women's shoes today, Munro produces comfortable sandals for women in a variety of colors and styles under the brand name of Munro American. Pumps, slip-ons, boots, wedges and mules are also available in casual, sport, dress or travel categories. Some shoes are designed with embellishments while others are more traditional or come with cutout detailed designs. Removable footpads are available with some styles. Elastic, buckled or leather straps add to the variety available. Munro Dress shoes are designed with a lightweight polyurethane platform for a classy look.
