About Nine West

Nine West, best known for taking runway trends and turning them into styles everyone can afford, was founded in 1978 by Jerome Fisher and Vince Camuto. Nine West was one of the first companies to use Brazilian expertise in leather and shoe-making in the development of their products, beginning with semi-formal styles like Nine West pumps, Nine West boots, Nine West flats and Nine West wedges. Within a year after the company was created, Nine West had already sold over one million pairs of shoes. After the launch of their handbags in 1995, Nine West has since expanded to include Nine West dresses, suits and kids' footwear, quickly followed by eyewear, Nine West sunglasses, Nine West jackets and outerwear, belts, hats, Nine West handbags and other accessories.

Nine West acquired the Easy Spirit shoe brand in 1996, and was itself purchased by Jones Apparel Group on 1999. In 2004, Nine West added a luggage line to the brand through an arrangement with Olivet. By 2009, Jones Apparel Group had created a fashion-lifestyle footwear collection by bringing together New Balance's performance and technology with Nine West's sense of fashion, creating a line which included Nine West athletic shoes,Nine West sport sandals, and similar cross-over styles. Today's wider product line touches formal and casual tastes alike, with products ranging from Nine West pants to Nine West formal business suits, offering something for everyone who follows fashion at an affordable price.
