About Nordic Ware

Nordic Ware is an American manufacturer of kitchenware products founded in 1946 by H. David Dalquist. Nordic Ware introduced the bundt cake in 1950, and their grain elevator at their base of operations in Minneapolis, Minnesota was the first reinforced concrete circular grain elevator in the United States, and possibly in the world. After his bundt cakes won the 1966 Pillsbury Bake-off, Mr. Dalquist licensed the bundt cake name to Pillsbury, retaining the Nordic Ware bundt pans themselves. He later helped develop thermoset plastics used in microwave cookware, and introduced the Micro-Go-Round automated food rotator in 1980, which changed microwave cooking methods thereafter. As they began with Nordic Ware bakeware, so they continue to address the need for unusual products and the lack of options available from other companies, like their Nordic Ware ramekins and souffle dishes, Nordic Ware forms and Nordic Ware molds, and Nordic Ware serveware.

With one of the first original Dupont licenses for Teflon, Nordic Ware created the first non-stick coatings for their cookware and bakeware in 1964, which is still used in Nordic Ware cake pans, Nordic Ware skillets and Nordic Ware saute pans and Nordic Ware cookware. Today two out of three American households own and use Nordic Ware products such as Nordic Ware cookware sets, Nordic Ware baking pans, Nordic Ware indoor grills, and Nordic Ware serving bowls.
