| Did you know the classic American children's wear company, OshKosh B'Gosh has been making denim and overalls since 1895? The company is well-known for their built to last clothing and designed to move for work and play. Back in 1895, the small town of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, manufactured adult work clothing, making famous their bib overalls. The original children's overalls were intended to let fathers and children dress alike. How cute, right?
In the 1960s, OshKosh B'Gosh started to sell their products through mail order catalogs and department stores. At that time, their children's line expanded and by 1993, made up 95% of the company's sales. In 2005, the company was sold to Carter's, Inc., a children and baby clothing manufacturer, but the company still operates under the original name and maintains a corporate headquarters in Oshkosh even thought the clothing is no longer made there.
Today, OshKosh B'Gosh makes jeans, OshKosh B'Gosh pants, OshKosh B'Gosh shirts, sweaters, t-shirts, tank tops, dresses, swimwear, sleepwear, and all other kinds of casual playwear and outerwear for children, babies, infants, toddlers and youth. The company has stayed true to the work-wear inspired heritage of quality and durability that started it all, over 115 years ago.
