About Peg Perego

Peg Perego is an Italian manufacturer of products for infants and young children, creating strollers, high chairs, car seats, and children's ride-on toys. In 1949, Giuseppe Pérego was unhappy with current baby strollers made from wicker or sheet metal, and decided to design a baby carriage for his son with a rubberized frame, while his wife created the softer elements, dressing the stroller in pretty fabric. Pérego's neighbors were impressed with the new design and requested their own custom creations and eventually, the Peg Perego strollers became so popular that forming a company seemed the only way to manage so many requests. Peg Perego stroller travel systems and stroller accessories soon followed so their neighbors and customers could customize their carriages and strollers for their specific needs.

Peg Perego's baby products quickly expanded to include Peg Perego car seats and Peg Perego high chairs. In 1960, the company moved to provide for a slightly more mature market with Peg Perego ride-on toys for toddlers and preschool kids. These toys have become more advanced since the original Peg Perego pedal powered vehicles, and the company now sells battery-powered John Deere, Barbie, Ducati, Jeep and Vespa ride-on toys for children, including a hardy line of Peg Perego off-road vehicles for adventurous kids.
