About Stacy Adams

Founded in 1875 in Brockton, Massachusetts by William Stacy and Henry Adams as the Stacy Adams Shoe Company, this brand has impressed its customers with the quality of its footwear for over 125 years. In addition to their shoe collections for men and boys, the company offers a variety of casual clothing, dress shirts and Stacy Adams suits as well as fine leather belts and wallets, silk ties, slippers and loungewear, and other accessories. The brand has been a part of Weyco Group since 1971, a company which also handles the Florsheim, Nunn Bush and Umi footwear brands.

Beginning in the late 1980s, this line of fashion footwear began adopting a whimsical retro-style borrowed from styles popular in the 1920s through 1940s. From this, a popular line of Stacy Adams wingtips, oxfords and spats were developed and earned rapid popularity among swing dancers and those seeking a different personal fashion statement. SAO by Stacy Adams footwear is a partial offshoot of the main brand, but also a direct descendant of Weyco's own product lines. Today the brand covers a wide range of styles, from the SAO urban hip-hop approach, to the simple casual Stacy Adams jeans and shorts, to the retro Zoot styling of Stacy Adams dress shirts and suits.
