About Theory

Founded in 1997, Theory is based on the needs and style of the contemporary customer who wants a versatile wardrobe that is sophisticated, modern, comfortable and affordable. They use quality fabric and pride themselves in their premium fit and diversity. Theory creates basic pieces, such as Theory blouses, Theory pants, and Theory dress, that can be worn alone or layered under pieces as a start to a wardrobe.

Theory spins Lycra into other fabrics to create a slim yet affordable shape for its customers. They have a signature stretch fit that works well in the office yet is very comfortable and wrinkle-free.

In 2003, Link International bought Theory to form Link Theory Holdings. In 2006, Theory opened their global headquarters in New York City which houses their flagship store on the first floor. Today, Theory continues to evolve and grow globally while creating clean and modern styles made with quality fabrics and fit. Theory is to this day well-known for its fit and comfort as well as their quality and craftsmanship at an affordable price.
