Pros: The plot is far more involved than in the first book...
Cons: ...Bella's character is absolutely repulsive; the entire book is one big train-wreck.
The Bottom Line: New Moon is one of the worst books in the series. You'd be better off reading the cliff notes.

Pros: Bella's friendship with Jacob, the eventual reunion with Edward, intense ending
Cons: Bella's destructive stunts, lots of whining, one nightmare-inducing scene
The Bottom Line: Better than Twilight in some ways, worse in others. Don't emulate Bella here. Or Edward, for that matter.

Pros: Great story, entertaining
Cons: Sometimes the book seemed to drag like the previous book did
The Bottom Line: New Moon has a little more action than the previous book had. There's more character development in this book and easy to read non-stop.
