Fluorescent Grow Lights - Bringing a Plant to Its Full Potential
In the past, if a person wanted to use fluorescent grow lights as a part of their indoor gardening setup, there weren't too many options when it came to size and shape. The standard fluorescent plant light was a rectangular, single bulb that hung directly over the plant. While this still of course exists, there are a number of other options now in terms of size, shape, and output. The bulbs come in different levels of intensity, and can be both warm and cool depending on the growth needs of the plants that a gardener is trying to grow.
Greenhouses and Gardens Under Lights
In recent years, there have been a number of exciting developments to interest all who delight in the presence of plants in their homes: mass production (and lower cost) of small greenhouses; production of inexpensive equipment for growing plants under lights; and increasing numbers of homes designed in atrium style (a garden in a central, enclosed position, as was common in Roman houses), or with a small viewing garden extending from almost any room in the home. Along with these innovations has come the greatly expanded availability of exotics, such plants as orchids, bromeliads, and Japanese bonsai and information concerning how to grow them.
