The Nora Roberts Craze

Admit it: you've read a romance novel at least once and loved it. There's nothing like indulging in a romance novel from time to time - while you're on vacation, on a lunch break, or even at home after work. And you know it's going to be good when the author of that novel was the first to be inducted in the Romance Writers Hall of Fame (yes, there is one). Nora Roberts is perhaps the most prolific romance writer of our time, with 124 of her novels having been on the New York Times Bestseller list. And Lifetime Television has adapted four of her novels (Angels Fall, Blue Smoke, Carolina Moon, and Montana Sky) into movies.

Even bigger news is that, starting in March, Lifetime is airing four new Nora Roberts' movies based on these bestsellers: Northern Lights (airing 3/21), Midnight Bayou (3/28), High Noon (4/4 and Tribute (4/11).  So you can curl up with a good book first, then watch the movie version on Lifetime! Why do people love Nora? The Irish settings, her storylines that delve deeply into both male and female characters (traditional romance novels can be very stereotypical of men), and the sheer volume and consistency of her work make her one of the most well-known writers today. Roberts just released the latest novel of her In Death series, Promises in Death, under her pseudonym J.D. Robb.
