New York Fashion Week is that magical time when you get a sneak peek at what's happening next year. For trendsetters, that means zeroing in on the clothes that will be in stores next February. But for the hottest beauty looks, luckily you don't have to wait-trendy types can swipe the hair, makeup and nail looks and work them into their beauty routine now. Read on to see the top tips, tricks and products that the artists used at the Lela Rose show, and experiment with the looks as little or as much as you like. Warm weather, not required.

HAIR:  Lela Rose chose the theme of beachy-chic for her spring collection, so with that in mind, stylist Ted Gibson created wavy, après-beach casual ponytails. All over the runways, hair was pulled back and off the face, so it's safe to say ponytails will be a huge look next year. To get the look – Gibson was going for St.Barth's chic, rather than flirty little girl hair – he sprayed Build It from his eponymous line at the scalp and then again on strands, to thicken and add a relaxed, wavy texture. Pulling back from each side, he gathered hair at the center of the head ("Up high is too girly", he commented.), and pulled it tight into a ponytail, with hair wrapped around the elastic band. To do this, take an inch section from underneath the pony, wind the section around the elastic, tuck the ends in, and place a bobby pin underneath to secure. Don't have the long locks to pull it off? Do what Gibson did to models with short cuts – add extensions, like Jessica Simpson Hair Extensions by Ken Paves. It's an instant update, that's fresh and fun, and definitely playful.

MAKEUP:  Stila makeup artist Sarah Lucero made up model's faces with a pretty, wearable look that bounces from the surf to the scene effortlessly. To do this, she had a secret weapon: Stila's Convertible Color for Lips and Cheeks in Camelia, which she used on eyes, lips and cheeks. The all-in-one product means a lot of bang for the buck. For eyes, it wasn't about heavy liner or lots of color; she swiped Convertible Color at the crease and blended it up to the browbone; placed a dot of pale lime green right at the center of the lid, and smudged a tiny bit of periwinkle blue gel liner at the inside corner to make eyes look bigger and brighter (Stila's Fandango palette and Cobalt Smudge Pot were her colors of choice). She finished the look off by adding intensity at the lashes with layers of mascara, Black Major Major Lash by Stila. "Lots of mascara is a huge trend right now, and layering gives you the look of faux lashes," says Lucero. After the second layer, hold the wand vertically at the center of the top lash line and brush a few strokes up.   For the lower lash line, hold it the tip of the brush vertical at the center, and brush up ever so slightly, to avoid getting mascara in your eye. For cheeks, she dotted Convertible Color at the cheekbones, to give them pop. She also applied it again to lips for a matte base, and then finished them off with beige-toned long wearing lipstick, Stila's Nude.

NAILS:  Celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann chose a nude tone to match the lips. "The color is opaque, hides imperfections and works for casual and dressy events," says Lippmann. Also, the big news for spring is the newer nail shape. "Squoval is over. The almond shape is fresher, and a softer, more feminine look," she says. At the show, Lippmann first applied her Lippmann Collection Ridge Filler to models' nails for a smooth, clean base. Then brushed on two coats of Lippmann Collection Fashion Nail Color, and finished with a layer of Addicted to Speed, a fast-drying topcoat.
