AccuTemp AT0E-3626-1 Temperature Sensor for Evolution Steamer
Resistance thermometers, also called resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), are sensors used to measure temperature. Many RTD elements consist of a length of fine wire wrapped around a ceramic or glass core but other constructions are also used. The RTD wire is a pure material, typically platinum, nickel, or copper. The material has an accurate resistance/temperature relationship which is used to provide an indication of temperature. As RTD elements are fragile, they are often housed in protective probes. A sensor (or detector) is a device, module, machine, or subsystem whose purpose is to detect events or changes in its environment and send the information to other electronics (frequently a computer processor) or electromechanical components. A sensor is always used with other electronics or components serving as in input device or signal actuator. Sensors may be used to detect and measure temperature, pressure, humidity, voltage, amperage, viscosity, flow, motion, light, the presence of gasses or liquids, vibration, force, speed and more.
