The body has many lines of defense to help protect itself from harm. The skin is the first line of defense. Nature did not intend for the skin to be exposed to odors, stains, dirt, chemicals and irritants. ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration is a non-toxic, biodegradable barrier, designed to be applied to the skin. Within five minutes of application, ClearShield creates an invisible barrier over the skin. It does not wash off like lotions or skin creams. This invisible barrier is a unique blend of three silicones in a combination that is effective at repelling many water-soluble and oil-soluble irritants. ClearShield allows the skin to breathe and perspire normally, without affecting the sense of touch or natural mobility of the hands or fingers. Aloe and vitamin E help to moisturize and soften the skin with use.

Dimethicone
Dimethicone, also known as Polydimethylsiloxane or PDMS, is a widely used silicon-based organic polymer. It is commonly used in cosmetics and personal care products for its skin protection properties. Dimethicone when mixed in a solution with stearic acid and PVP, forms an invisible barrier over the skin. Dimethicone coats the epidermis and bonds with the cells to form a molecular barrier that provides protection for up to four hours.
Stearic Acid
Stearic acid is a fatty acid derived from many animal and vegetable fats and oils. Stearic Acid has a wide variety of uses including cosmetics, soaps and candles. Stearic acid when mixed with Dimethicone and PVP, forms an invisible barrier over the skin.
PVP
PVP or polyvinylpyrrolidone is a water-soluble polymer. PVP has a variety of uses including shampoos, toothpaste, hair sprays and hair gels, contact lens solutions and food additives. PVP helps to distribute or to suspend an insoluble solid in a liquid and keeps emulsions from separating into their oil and liquid components. PVP dries to form a thin coating on the skin, hair or nails, which is why it is an effective ingredient in skin care products. PVP when mixed in a solution with Dimethicone and stearic acid, forms an invisible barrier over the skin.
Aloe Vera
Aloe barbadensis gel, also known as aloe vera, has been used for centuries for both its moisturizing and soothing properties. This natural ingredient is rich in mucopolysaccharides, which provide soothing and softening effects. Topically, aloe vera is perfect for dry and cracked skin. Topical aloe vera application also helps to assure that when applying aloe products, the highest concentrations of the natural soothing agent are delivered directly to the skin. Aloe vera products, when used as part of a daily skincare regimen, can help keep your skin healthy. One of the main reasons aloe vera has become so popular among consumers is that it possesses incredible moisturizing properties. Studies have shown that aloe vera supports the skin's ability to hydrate itself, promotes the normal removal of dead skin cells and has an effective penetrating ability that helps transport healthy substances through the skin.
Vitamin E
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E) is a powerful antioxidant. Vitamin E comes from vegetable oils, margarine, nuts, seeds, avocados and wheat germ. Safflower oil contains large amount of vitamin E. Vitamin E is actually a family of related compounds called tocopherols and tocotrienols. The vitamin E family is well known for its soothing capabilities. Vitamin E skin care products are an essential part of a daily healthy skin regimen.

How do I use ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration?
- Shake can vigorously before using

NOTE: ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration protects against most water-soluble and oil-soluble irritants. ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration is not a substitute for conventional protection measures such as gloves or germicidal or disinfectant skin cleansing, but provides additional protection. Do not use as protection for skin abrasions. Avoid prolonged exposure to any irritant. Always wash promptly after exposure. ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration is not guaranteed to protect your skin. Please consult a physician immediately if you are injured by any substance.
Will ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration damage latex gloves if I use it at the same time I am wearing them?
When applied as directed, ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration will not harm or reduce the effectiveness of latex gloves.
Will ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration protect against latex and plastic allergies?
No. ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration is not intended to protect against allergic reactions to latex proteins or other reactive chemicals that can be found in some latex and plastic products.
Will ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration transfer from the hands to food or other items that I touch?
If applied as recommended, ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration coats the upper layer of the skin and bonds with the cells to form a solid molecular barrier that should not transfer to anything you touch.
Does ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration protect against HIV or other microbes?
No. ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration is not germicidal or virucidal, and it cannot protect you against HIV, STDs or other germs and/or viruses.
Can ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration be used on open wounds?
No. ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration is intended for application only to intact skin and is not designed to provide protection to cuts or abrasions.
What ingredients in ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration make it work?
The Dimethicone, PVP and Stearic Acid combine to form an invisible barrier over the skin. The aloe vera and vitamin E help to moisturize and nourish the skin.
How often should ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration be applied?
Typically, one application of ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration lasts for up to four hours.
Will ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration wash off?
Over a period of up to four hours, ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration will slough off. General washing with soap and water will not remove ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration; it will come off naturally on its own.
Will ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration work as a sunscreen?
No.
Can some people be allergic to the ingredients in ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration?
ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration is designed to be hypoallergenic and should not cause any allergic reactions. However, if you experience any discomfort or irritation, discontinue use immediately. If symptoms persist, consult your physician.
Can I use a lotion or other moisturizer after I apply ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration?
Yes. You may apply a moisturizer after applying ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration, however, it is not necessary. ClearShield is formulated with aloe and vitamin E to moisturize and nourish the skin. You can apply lotion over but not under ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration. Because it may interfere with the effectiveness of ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration, it is important that you do not apply any lotions before applying ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration.
Can I use ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration instead of wearing gloves?
No. ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration should not be used to replace gloves. ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration provides a secondary level of protection.
Will ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration leave my hands feeling stiff?
No. ClearShield Maximum Protection and Hydration will not affect the natural movements or feeling on your skin.

Ingredients: Purified water, dimethicone (4%), isobutane/propane, stearic acid, glycerin, caprylic/capric triglyceride, triethanolamine, aloe vera gel, coconut acid, cetyl alcohol, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), ceteareth-20, cetearyl alcohol, fragrance, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), hydroxyethylcellulose, methylparaben, tetrasodium EDTA, propylparaben.
Warning: Avoid contact with eyes. In case of eye contact, flush with water. If swallowed, give 2 glasses of water and induce vomiting. I had to let you know that Clearshield is one of my favorite products! I just finished 4 hours of peeling and chopping garlic (that we raise) for dehydrating. It's a sticky and garlicky smelling task. I have no garlic juice burns on my fingertips and after washing my hands, no garlic odor is clinging. Last year I forgot and my hands and fingers were burned and sensitive for a few weeks following! I try to remember whenever I am peeling potatoes, picking anything from the garden, canning tomatoes, and anything that stains the skin. My hands get pretty beat up, even though I wear gloves while gardening, but I am always impressed by soft skin and little staining (if any) there is when I take off the gloves after a long day.

As a veterinary technician, I'm constantly washing my hands. If I don't use this product, my knuckles will be covered in tiny cuts & bleed, which is not pretty & quite painful! I use this product daily & when working, multiple times a day, making sure to protect my hands & keep them happy!
