The back of the hinged case features a highly detailed relief sculpture of an historic Iron Horse locomotive. The front frames an authentic U.S. Half Dollar. The 1964 "First Year of Issue" JFK Half Dollar was the only JFK Half Dollar minted of.900 Solid Silver. It was intended as a memorial to the assasination of President John F. Kennedy.
